First touch with this synthetic hurling stick is indistinguishable from ash. It is slightly thinner at the bas (~5/8") with no discernible difference in weight, balance, or flex. Striking is identical with a slight reverb/wobble on the follow-through. That one, incredibly minor, difference is completely overshadowed by the materials and inherent durability.
With the difficulties in procuring suitable Ash, it's good to see creative solutions like this to preserve the game. Having consistent, repeatable performance is crucial and being impervious to the elements is especially important for players in the American Southwest.
